Semek — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 October 2026

Semek is a Chrome extension. This policy explains what data it handles.

What Semek does with your data

Keyboard-layout detection (Hebrew/English). Runs entirely on your device. Semek looks at text as you type in order to spot a word typed in the wrong language and suggest a correction. That text is never stored, logged, or sent anywhere. Password fields are never read; Semek only checks whether one contains Hebrew characters and never sees or keeps the value.

AI text polish (optional, only when you ask). Nothing is sent anywhere until you click the sparkle icon or press the polish shortcut. Then:

PDF text & signature editor. PDFs are opened, edited, and saved entirely in your browser. Files are not uploaded to Semek or anyone else. For Google Drive previews, the file is fetched from Google using your existing signed-in session, only when you click "Edit / Sign PDF".

What Semek stores

Stored in your browser only (Chrome extension storage):

Semek has no accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no remote servers. It does not sell or share user data, and does not use data for purposes unrelated to the features described above.

Permissions

Semek asks for access to all websites because it must watch the text boxes you type in and detect PDF pages on any site. See the store listing for the justification for each permission.
